FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Q: What is 3D printing?
A: 3D printing is the process of creating a physical object from a digital model by laying down material in successive layers.

Q: What is our pricing model? We are continuing to evaluate all costs and reduce when appropriate.
A: We believe in transparency. Each tile requires approximately 16 to 20 hours of print time and consumes 600 to 800 grams of filament. Additional costs include electricity, printer maintenance, and packaging materials. Our tiles are meticulously detailed and feature full infill—even in the rock elements—for enhanced strength and long-lasting durability. For bulk orders, please contact us to inquire about volume discounts.

Q: What materials are used to print the tiles?
A: PLA Plus (biodegradable, easy to print). Please keep in mind that PLA Plus printed material should not be left in direct sunlight, in a hot car, or near an open flame/heat source. Courses will melt when exposed to extreme heat. For indoor use only.

Q: Material color variations?
A: We try to ensure all filament changes match from one roll to another, however, you may see some minor variations between tiles of the same color.

Q: How big are the tiles?
A: The tiles are 254mm x 254mm or 10" x 10". Height varies.

Q: Do you have color options?
A: Yes, we have 4 color options at this time: Beige, Gray, Brown, and Black.

Q: How is pricing determined?
A: Pricing usually depends on: Material volume and type, Print time, Model complexity, Post-processing (e.g., sanding, painting), and Shipping.

Q: Is there a minimum order size?
A: No. Please contact us if ordering more than 1 tile.

Q: How long does it take to print?
A: Typically: Terrain is made to order with a 1-3 week lead time for printing and packaging. In stock does not mean the tiles are ready to ship. Please account for this time frame when ordering.

Q: Care.
A: Please keep in mind that 3D printed items should not be left in direct summer sun, in a hot car or near an open flame/heat source. Courses will melt when exposed to extreme heat.

Q: Can PLA Plus be painted?
A: Yes, PLA Plus can be painted. Please remember the paint will wear off over time with use.

Q: Complex/Large Prints.
A: Will take several weeks or longer. Rush orders may be available at an additional cost.
